Sovereign, the Jaguar

A Great Family Zoo on the Edge of Dartmoor!

There are over 200 animals at Dartmoor Zoological Park: from tiny stick insects to Ben our Brown Bear or Solomon our Lion, all set in over 30 acres of beautiful parkland. Discover something different, learn something amazing and help us make tomorrow's world rich in animal life.

We are open daily from 10am all year round. It is a wonderful place to bring children. Come and see the animals and enjoy new our new restaurant with-far reaching views, and delicious healthy food.

Meerkats Move In

Sue exploring her new homeOur new meerkats, Sue and Timon, took up residence in their brand new enclosure on Thursday watched by an enthusiastic crowd of visitors.

The new enclosure provides the best possible views of these amazing creatures and despite all the close-up attention they've settled right in and are already turning their attention to the serious business of starting a family.

Keeper for a Day

LynxOur Keeper and Education departments are currently putting together a fantastic package designed for everyone who ever wondered what it was like to work in a zoo and look after all these fantastic animals.

The Keeper for a Day programme will give you a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on with some of the most popular animals here at DZP. You'll get to see what it's like to be a keeper with a unique behind the scenes experience you'll never forget.

We're already taking bookings and places are strictly limited. So if you're interested in getting involved, or you know someone who'd just adore this fantastic experience as a gift, then contact us now.

Great New Membership Offers

As of 1st April 2009, we are instigating a major review of membership pricing and introducing an exciting new offer for DZP members.

From April 1st Annual Family Membership will be reduced from £105 to £80 and the cost of Child Membership will be dropped from £25 to £10. In addition, at DZP 'child' will mean under five, so now your four-year-old goes for free!

That's not all – we've also teamed up with the National Marine Aquarium (NMA) to give you the best membership deal in the region. If you're a member of DZP, you qualify for a massive 50% discount on membership for the NMA and of course, if you're already a member of the NMA you get the same great 50% discount on DZP membership.

At either DZP or NMA, to qualify for the membership discount simply present your existing membership card when you purchase your new membership.

Not sure if you want both memberships? No problem – simply buy a one day ticket at full price and if you want to take up the offer after your visit you can redeem the cost of your ticket against the membership on the day. It's that simple.

For further information about membership prices and benefits contact:

NMA – Dean Watson
